Who Else Wants To Know About Cheap Hotel Rooms?

My husband often complains because I will not stay in cheap hotel rooms. When I took my mother with me overnight to see a concert, she complained about how much money I had spent on our room. I guess I might be the only one in my family, but I have to have a nice place to stay. I know the reason is that I have stayed in far too many bad hotels, and I refuse to do it again. There are many great ways to save money on a lot of things, but hotel rooms are one thing that I will spend more just to be sure I know what I am getting into.

Many of the cheap hotel rooms I have stayed in have scared me. There was one I can remember that was so bad I slept on top of the blankets and froze all night. There was no way I was crawling into those sheets. I tried to get a new room, but they were full, and I‘m not sure a different room would have made a difference. I would have left and gone somewhere else, but the room was paid for in advance, and they were not going to give me my money back. Sadly, the area where I was staying had nothing but cheap hotel rooms anyway, so I just had to grin and bear it.

You are always gambling when you choose cheap hotel rooms. I don’t mean hotels that offer a discount through a web site, I’m talking about the ones that are always cheap. I have never found one under a hundred dollars that was worth the money. I have always been scared of hotel beds to begin with, but if you add sheets that look like they may not have been cleaned, and a bathroom that has obviously been neglected, and you can spend your stay terrified of what might be lurking in your room.

I know there are good cheap hotel rooms out there. I have never found one, but my stepfather tells me they do exist. He was a truck driver for a long time, and he learned very quickly where the good rooms were, and which ones to avoid. He always had to have cheap hotel rooms, otherwise he would have been spending more on lodging than he was making in a week. He said that decent cheap hotel rooms are out there, but you do have to know what to look for, and you have to remember where they are for the next time.
