Sure, you may need to find some transportation to get to where you want to go or take a short cab ride, but you may find that you save quite a bit of money and get some cheap hotel deals that you would not find in the heart of a tourist destination. This is ideal for those who have a
specific budget and are willing to compromise.

Ask for discounts. There are many hotels out there that offer discounts for senior citizens, military personnel, AAA, and several others. You may only save a few dollars or a certain percentage but any discount is worth looking into. If you want cheap hotel deals but aren't willing to see what's out there, then you definitely will be spending extra money. Try all of the above options and perhaps some tricks of your own and you may find yourself stumbling upon some great cheap hotel deals. That frees up more of your money to spend on other parts of your vacation.
