If you’re planning a vacation to California, do yourself a favor and splurge. Rent a convertible and drive up the coastal highway feeling the warm wind toss your hair around. On one side of you will be the ocean and looking to the other side, you will see miles of green or mountains. It can be breathtaking. There are thousands of miles of California beaches to choose from. Perhaps you’re looking for strictly sunbathing and swimming, in which case you want flat land. Not a problem. Maybe you want inspiration and spectacular scenery for photos and not many people. Again, not a problem. You’ll find some beaches that are rocky and virtually isolated. You can listen to and watch the waves crash into the rocky shores and perhaps see a few sea lions hanging out sunbathing.

Many of the California beaches are so pristine and ideal that they have been filmed numerous times for movies and television shows. No matter where you live or visit in California, beaches are not too far away. Walking the beaches and admiring some of the spectacular mansions along the shorelines is entertainment in itself. Depending on what beach you find yourself walking along, perhaps you’ll bump into someone you may recognize a famous celebrity or two. You just never know in California.

Depending on which of the California beaches you are planning to visit, they might each have different regulations. Some of them are pet friendly, with certain guidelines, while others will fine you for having a pet on the beach. There are parts of the California beaches that you can ride a horse into the water for that once in a lifetime adventure. Since the sun sets on the West Coast, sunsets can be spectacular. Again, some of those moments have been the backdrop for some movies and television shows.

There are some wonderful and lavish hotels that you can find on the California beaches. You may end up paying more than what you intended to spend, but it may be more than worthwhile. Walking and frolicking on the California beaches is even more enjoyable when you can simply walk right up to your hotel and not have to worry about getting in your car, cleaning the sand off of yourself and venturing elsewhere. Spend the money to look out your hotel room windows and see the blue Pacific Ocean. You will soon learn that the California beaches are like no other beaches in the world.
